Inspired by Everything Around Me

I paint in oils primarily, but also love using pastels and other media. I am very attracted to light, and I use colour expressively to capture a feeling or mood, whether it be in a landscape, still life or portrait.  Growing up in India and living in places like Spain and Texas where the strong sun brings colour to life has certainly had an influence on my use of colour.

As a child I remember being immersed in drawing, especially people and portraits, but I didn’t realise that I wanted to be an artist until my thirties when I had children and began drawing with them. I studied art in the evenings while my children were young, but it wasn’t until I retired from a career in IT marketing that I took up painting seriously.

I studied at Heatherley’s School of Art, LARA, The Barns Atelier, Lavender Hill Studios in London, and The Norfolk School of Oil Painting.
